About Baptism
Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
First Kids Baptism
Here at First Church, we feel there is no greater joy than to see kids make the decision to follow Jesus and publicly profess their faith before their family, friends, and church through baptism. We encourage parents to talk through this important decision with their kids and walk through the steps of baptism when their child is able to express their faith in Jesus.
Baptism Sunday
While we are always available to baptize you any day or time, Baptism Sunday happens twice a year as an all-out celebration for dozens of individuals being raised to newness of life! To give you every opportunity to publicly declare your commitment to Jesus, baptisms will be offered after each service. Check below for dates most convenient for you, and invite your family and friends to witness you take this next step in your faith.
