Common Questions

How old does my child need to be to attend VBS?

VBS is for children ages 4-12.

What do I do to check-in when I arrive with my child?

We will begin checking in children at 5:30PM each evening. Look for signs marking the designated check-in space (FC Worship Center), check-in your child, and we'll have our Check-In Team direct them from there.

Where do I pick up my child at the end of the night?

We will begin the check-out process at 8:30PM each night. There will be a designated pick-up line located beside the FC Worship Center. When you arrive, our Check-Out Team will be waiting to verify your information, check-out your child, and safely walk them to your vehicle.

*Please note that if someone other than the person(s) noted on the registration form will be present for pick-up, it must be made aware to the Check-In Team upon arrival. Your child's safety is our highest priority.

Will dinner or snacks be provided at VBS?

Dinner will be served each night. If your child has a food allergy that was not noted on the registration form, please notify the Check-In Team upon arrival.

When will my child receive their t-shirt?

T-shirts will be given out on the first day of VBS for those who are new to First Church, or may be picked up early in person for those who are FC members.

My child has an Epi Pen. How should we send it to VBS?

Please send your child's Epi Pen in a plastic zip top bag with their first and last name and allergen written on it to the first day of VBS. Your child's Epi Pen will immediately be given to their group leader, who will keep the Epi Pen with them at all times.

My child has a rescue inhaler. How should we send it to VBS?

Please send your child's rescue inhaler (and spacer, if needed) in a plastic zip top bag with their first and last name written on it to the first day of VBS. Your child's rescue inhaler will immediately be given to their group leader, who will keep the inhaler with them at all times.

My child has a food allergy. What should we do?

We want to support your family with excellence at VBS, and want you to help us decide what your child can safely eat. During registration, you will be given the option to indicate that your child has a food allergy. In the 'Additional Medical Information' box, please indicate their allergens. We will make it a priority to accomodate your child's needs.

My child needs special accomodations during VBS? What is available for them?

At VBS, we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment that allows all children to access worship and ministry. Our Special Needs Team is happy to help by assisting children needing special accommodations to become full participants and contributors in the VBS experience. Simply mark their special need on our registration form.
